Tommy
WHAT MAKES HIM AN AWESOME TUTOR
Education and information are extremely valuable tools, my dad always had a saying, “knowledge is power”. But what I realize is that knowledge is only useful when it can be applied and related to. I enjoy applying the knowledge given to me in my education, I think it should be the same for all grades. I find that when learning a new concept, we should try to apply it in our lives and see how it relates to us, this allows us to get a greater understanding of a concept. Doing questions repetitively is a great way to study but I also like to implement regular conversation about how a concept plays a role in our life.

NERD ALERT!
When I played hockey in high school, I was constantly trying to apply physics to my hockey game. I would think about angles to pass a puck at, the shortest route to the puck, and how much momentum I needed to get through a body check from the players that were a foot taller than me. I didn’t do the actual math, but these concepts ran through my mind.
