WHAT MAKES HER AN AWESOME TUTOR
It all started when I decided to challenge the notion of one either being a smart or unsmart person - categories I was guilty of putting myself into once. I never thought I could be ‘those’ kids, the ones that were at the top of their class and would always be called up to collect awards at the awards ceremony. It all changed in Grade 6 when, with the help of the right tutor, I was able to change this mindset. As a student myself, I can totally understand the frustration of working on a problem/concept for HOURS and still not getting anywhere near understanding it. One thing I like to reiterate a lot is that, if I can do it... so can YOU, and I truly mean it. You can ask me a question 10 times, 100 times... we’ll work through it together to make sure everything is crystal clear and every piece fits in the puzzle. Diagrams, doodles, and making cheat sheets are things that continue to help me absorb/understand information, and we’ll try out a number of different learning techniques that are as unique as you are to ensure your learning is beyond mere memorization! :)
